The Night Before Departure

Well, according to my sweet fossil watch that Nikki got me, it is 8:04 PM, about 10 hours before the journey begins. I am Sean, your guide. This is a chance for me (with the help of my parents) to document our adventure and a chance for you to come along with us. Also, as a recently declared Writing Minor, it is providing me with a chance to experiment with and practice different my writing styles (so please excuse in advance the poor grammar and or confusing/random sentences.) This is my first time writing a blog, but I will try to update as much as I can, while being as detailed as I can.

While I was younger I went on many trips with my family. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of them, especially the beautiful and unique sites and sounds of each destination. This is a way for me to preserve the memories of this trip for myself, and for everyone else to come as close to the experience as possible.

So with that being said, I am very excited. I'm also a tiny bit nervous, and having the Blair Witch Project on in the background isn't helping me (its been on for 4o minutes and no one has died yet, come on now). Mom is outside with the leaf blower, and for those who are close to her, this is not uncommon. She can often be found picking gummy balls by flashlight. Her charisma and navigation prowess will provide some undoubtedly useful skills to the trip.

Dad and I just finished our Kentucky Fried Chicken, and he is upstairs getting his things ready. He just recently added two lenses to his upgraded camera body. He is sporting a fully digital Cannon 30-D body, along with a 17-40mm wide angle lens, a 28-90mm 'walk around' lens, a 75-300mm telephoto lens, and a 50-500mm ultra-telephoto lens. Hes ready for some serious shooting. I myself will be using my Cannon S5-IS camera which is like an advanced point and shoot with some high end features, but nowhere near as high end as my father's setup.

I'm going to wrap up this entry because I realized its getting a bit lengthy. Tomorrow morning I'll post a quick entry and once we arrive I'll update with our itinerary. So until tomorrow, goodnight.
